Do you supply webspace or site names?
No, we do not host sites or register domain names, but if you need help with either we will gladly refer you to companies we have worked with in the past.
How long does it take to create a custom built website?
Typically it takes between two weeks and a month depending on our current work load and how fast we work through the steps with each individual client. Having all the content you want on the site written before approaching us usually speeds up the process greatly. If you need a site asap, we might be able to accommodate you for an additional rush fee, but please indicate that you have a limited time frame when you first contact us as our workload doesn't always permit rush jobs.
What process can I expect if I commission a custom webdesign?
After initially contacting us with your interest, we will discuss what you're looking for in a site and the time frame for building it. If you decide to commission a site design with us, we will do an extensive interview either over the phone or by email (whichever you are more comfortable with.) We will send you an electronic agreement at this time, and you will be expected to put 25% of the total site cost down.
We will then begin with 'mock-ups' of your future site. These 'mock-ups' are .jpg files and are sketches of possible designs for your site. We will present you with several designs for your feedback and once you have approved one, we will begin coding your site.
At this stage, if you haven't already supplied us with the content of your site, progress will slow down until you do. Once the site is built and your content is incorporated, we will load it on a test server so you can view the pages and suggest any changes. Once the final site is approved, we will send you an electronic agreement stating that the site was completed and the remaining 75% of the site cost will be due before we upload it to your server and send you the site files.
Can I supply my own images for the site?
Of course. We have a special package for clients who already have all their own images. We are also more than happy to incorporate images you supply into custom montages for banners, backgrounds, or other graphics. Please make sure you have secured the proper rights to images if you decide to supply your own.
I looked at the custom packages on your site and I'm not sure what I need/ I don't see a comfortable fit for my needs.
Please don't be shy about contacting us and explaining what you want in a site. We will happily point you to the correct package or create a custom priced package for your individual needs.
What forms of Payment do you accept?
Our preferred method of payment is PayPal, but we also accept checks* made out to KNsDesigns. When we agree on a contract, we will send you an invoice with payment information.
*If you contract work with a check, please allow time for the check to clear.
